The Japan Association for Language
Teaching (JALT) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the improvement of
language teaching and learning with nearly 3,000 members in chapters
and affiliates across Japan as well as members abroad. Over 800 JALT members
belong to one or more of the following Special Interest Groups
NCJLT (National Council of Japanese Language Teachers)
NCJLT is an organization dedicated to the
promotion and development of Japanese language teaching at the elementary,
secondary, and higher education levels across the United States. The mission of
NCJLT is to support Japanese Language teachers and promote Japanese Language
education. The vision of NCJLT is to foster the study of Japanese language and
culture via supportive programs.
ATJ-Association of Teachers of Japanese
The Association of Teachers of Japanese is
an international, non-profit, non-political organization of scholars, teachers,
and students of Japanese language, literature, and linguistics dedicated to
teaching and scholarship and to the exchange of information among teachers and
other professionals to help broaden and deepen knowledge and appreciation of
Japan and its culture.
1986 年ニューヨーク市コロンビア大学に設立され、その名前は、日本文学そして日本文化の西洋への紹介者として、また学者、教育者、翻訳家としても世界的に著名なドナルド・キーン教授にちなみ命名されました。
ドナルド・キーン日本文化センターは、大学教育、学術研究の推進、そして一般向けの公開講座などを通じて米国における日本と日本文化についての理解を深めることを目的としています。また当センターでは、アジア、アメリカ、そしてヨーロッパの文化と日本文化との異文化交流研究を奨励しています。
